Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: November 2, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets the rules for using any service from Triple Dog Studios LLC, doing business as Triple Dog Hosting ("we," "us," or "our"). It is part of our Terms of Service. It applies to you and to anyone you let use your account, including your site's developers, editors, and customers. You are responsible for what they do.
To report abuse, email abuse@tripledoghosting.com. Each report opens a ticket in our support system. See section 8 for what to include.
1. Illegal content and activity
You may not use the Services to host, send, or link to anything that is illegal under U.S. federal law, Florida law, or the law where you or your audience are located. This includes:
- Child sexual abuse material. We remove it immediately, terminate the account without notice, preserve evidence, and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as federal law requires.
- Content that infringes copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights, including pirated software, media, themes, and plugins ("nulled" WordPress themes and plugins count).
- Fraud, scams, fake stores, and sites that take payment for goods they do not deliver.
- Sale of illegal drugs, weapons, or other goods or services that are illegal where offered.
- Threats of violence, harassment, doxxing, and content that promotes terrorism or violent extremism.
- Defamation and unauthorized publication of other people's private information.
- Content that depicts or promotes sexual activity involving minors, and sexual content made or shared without the consent of the people shown.
- Online gambling.
- Sale of firearms, ammunition, or other weapons.
- Sale of prescription drugs, including online pharmacies.
Adult content
We allow adult content only where it is legal in your location, under U.S. federal law and Florida law, and in the place where our servers are located. You also need our written approval before you order. Contact support@tripledoghosting.com first and wait for our answer. Do not place an order and ask afterward.
We decide at our sole discretion whether content counts as adult content. If you put adult content on a site without our written approval, we may suspend or terminate the service with no refund. Even with approval, we never allow content involving minors or content that is non-consensual.
Other higher-risk businesses
Some legal businesses carry higher risk: adult content (see above), CBD and hemp products, dietary supplements, alcohol, tobacco and vaping products, and financial services such as lending or investing. Contact support@tripledoghosting.com and get our written approval before you order a plan for one of these. We may ask for proof of licensing or decline the account.
2. Spam and email abuse
We do not allow spam. You may not:
- Send bulk or commercial email to anyone who has not agreed to receive it.
- Send email to purchased, rented, scraped, or harvested lists.
- Send commercial email that does not follow the CAN-SPAM Act, which requires an accurate sender, a truthful subject line, your physical mailing address, and a working unsubscribe link that you honor within 10 business days.
- Forge or hide email headers, or send from addresses or domains you are not authorized to use.
- Run an open mail relay.
- Host a website that is advertised through spam, even if the spam is sent from another provider.
- Send mail bombs or other floods of email meant to disrupt a mailbox or server.
Hosting mailboxes are for normal business email, not bulk mailing. Outbound email is limited to 300 messages per hour per account. For newsletters and marketing email, use a dedicated email service such as Mailchimp, Brevo, or Amazon SES.
If your account causes one of our IP addresses or domains to be listed on a spam blocklist, we may suspend outbound email immediately.
3. Malware, phishing, and attacks
You may not use the Services to:
- Host, distribute, or link to malware, including viruses, ransomware, trojans, spyware, keyloggers, and exploit kits.
- Host phishing pages or any page that imitates another brand or login page to collect passwords, payment data, or personal information.
- Gain or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system, account, or data, on our network or anyone else's.
- Scan ports, probe for vulnerabilities, or run penetration tests against any system you do not own or have written permission to test. This includes our own servers.
- Launch or take part in denial-of-service attacks, or host botnet command-and-control servers.
- Run "stresser" or "booter" services.
- Get around our security controls, resource limits, or account restrictions.
If your WordPress site is hacked and starts sending spam or serving malware, we treat it as a violation even though you did not intend it. We will work with you to clean it up, as described in section 7.
4. Prohibited services and software
Our hosting is for websites. You may not run any of the following on our servers:
- Cryptocurrency mining of any kind, including browser-based mining scripts on your site.
- Open proxies, VPNs, and Tor exit or relay nodes, including web-based proxy sites.
- IRC servers, bots, or bouncers.
- Game servers.
- BitTorrent trackers, clients, or seedboxes, and other peer-to-peer file sharing.
- File storage or backup services, including using your account as off-site backup for other computers and running self-hosted file sync tools such as Nextcloud or ownCloud.
- File download or mirror sites, including large software or media download repositories.
- Long-running background processes or daemons started outside the control panel. Use the control panel to schedule cron jobs.
- Web crawlers, scrapers, and spiders that run from our servers.
- Free hosting or subdomain services that give away web space to third parties.
5. Resource use
Each plan includes the limits below. They are the same limits listed for each plan on the order page. Your account must stay within them so that one site does not slow down others on the same server.
| Limit | WP Starter | WP Business | Woo Launch | Woo Growth | Agency |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Websites | 1 | 3 | 1 store | 3 (1 store + 2 WordPress) | 25 |
| NVMe storage (files, databases, and email together) | 10GB | 25GB | 20GB | 40GB | 100GB |
| Files and directories (inodes) | 250,000 | 500,000 | 500,000 | 1,000,000 | 1,000,000 |
| Databases | 2 | 5 | 3 | 5 | 30 |
| PHP workers | 4 | 6 | 6 | 8 | 8 |
| PHP memory per worker | 256MB | 256MB | 512MB | 512MB | 512MB |
| CPU and RAM per account | 1 vCore / 2GB | 1 vCore / 2GB | 2 vCores / 3GB | 2 vCores / 4GB | 2 vCores / 4GB |
| Disk throughput and IOPS per account | 100MB/s / 2,048 | 100MB/s / 2,048 | 250MB/s / 5,120 | 250MB/s / 5,120 | 250MB/s / 5,120 |
| Mailboxes | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Outbound email | 300 per hour | 300 per hour | 300 per hour | 300 per hour | 300 per hour |
| Bandwidth | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Mailboxes have no separate size limit. Their contents count toward your plan's storage, so a mailbox cannot grow past your plan's storage limit.
"Unlimited" bandwidth and mailboxes mean normal use for a WordPress or WooCommerce site and its email. They do not mean unlimited server capacity. Bandwidth use that slows other customers falls under the rules below.
We also may limit any account that uses more CPU, memory, disk activity, or processes than its plan allows or than similar accounts on the same server, or that hurts other customers' performance. Common causes include:
- Poorly coded plugins or database queries.
- WordPress cron tasks or WooCommerce jobs that run constantly.
- Aggressive bots or AI crawlers hitting your site.
- Large import, export, or image-processing jobs.
If your site needs more resources, we will tell you and recommend an upgrade. We will not upgrade or charge you without your approval.
6. WooCommerce stores and payment data
If you sell online:
- Use a payment gateway that handles card data on its own servers, such as Stripe or PayPal.
- Do not store full card numbers, CVV codes, or magnetic stripe data in your database, files, or email.
- Follow consumer protection laws for your store, including clear pricing, refund terms, and delivery terms.
7. How we enforce this policy
We decide whether a violation has happened. We match our response to the risk.
7.1 Urgent violations: immediate action
We act right away, without advance notice, for:
- Child sexual abuse material.
- Active phishing or malware distribution.
- Outbound spam or attacks coming from your account.
- Anything that threatens the security or stability of our servers or other customers.
- Anything our infrastructure provider or law enforcement requires us to stop immediately.
Our action may include disabling the affected site, quarantining files, blocking outbound email, or suspending the account. We email you within 1 business day of acting, explain what we found, and tell you how to fix it, unless the law forbids notice.
7.2 Non-urgent violations: notice first
For other issues, such as resource overuse, a prohibited application, or a reported content problem, we email you and give you 72 hours to fix it or reply. If you do not, we may restrict or suspend the affected service.
7.3 Repeat or serious violations
We may terminate the account for repeat violations, for refusing to fix a violation, or for a single serious violation such as fraud or child sexual abuse material. Accounts closed for violations are not eligible for a refund.
7.4 Hacked sites
If your site is compromised, we will tell you what we found and may quarantine infected files. You are responsible for cleaning the site, which usually means updating WordPress, themes, and plugins, removing unknown admin users, and changing passwords. We do not offer paid malware cleanup. We restore full access once the site is clean.
7.5 Cooperation with law enforcement
We may share information with law enforcement when we receive valid legal process, or when we believe in good faith that someone is in danger of death or serious injury.
8. Reporting abuse
Email abuse@tripledoghosting.com. Include as much of the following as you can:
- The website address (URL) or IP address involved.
- What is happening and when it happened, with dates, times, and time zone.
- Evidence, such as full email headers for spam, screenshots, or log excerpts.
- Your contact details, if you want a reply. You may report anonymously, but we cannot follow up with you.
What happens next:
- We acknowledge reports within 1 business day.
- We act on urgent reports of phishing, malware, and child sexual abuse material as quickly as we can, and we may suspend a site or account immediately. We do not promise review on weekends or outside support hours.
- We review other reports within 3 business days.
- To protect our customers' privacy, we may not share the outcome of an investigation with the person who reported it.
We do not act on reports that only state an opinion about content that is legal, such as a negative review.
9. Copyright complaints (DMCA)
We respond to notices of claimed copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. ยง 512.
9.1 Sending a notice
Send your notice to our designated agent:
- Designated agent: DMCA Agent, Triple Dog Studios LLC, 9203 N 19th St, Tampa, FL 33612
- Phone: 407-900-2469 (for DMCA notices only; we do not give support by phone)
- Email: abuse@tripledoghosting.com
Your notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- A description of the copyrighted work you say is infringed.
- The URL or other specific location of the material.
- Your name, address, phone number, and email address.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for the owner.
9.2 What we do
When we receive a complete notice, we remove or disable access to the material and forward the notice to our customer.
9.3 Counter-notice
If you believe we removed your material by mistake, send a counter-notice to the same address. It must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- A description of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the material was removed because of a mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and phone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you are outside the U.S., any judicial district where we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.
We forward the counter-notice to the person who sent the original notice. We restore the material 10 to 14 business days after we receive the counter-notice, unless that person tells us they have filed a lawsuit to keep it down.
9.4 Repeat infringers
We terminate the accounts of customers who are repeat infringers. We treat an account that receives 3 valid DMCA notices in any 12-month period, which are not resolved by a valid counter-notice, as a repeat infringer.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this AUP. For material changes, we will email you at least 30 days before they take effect, unless a change is needed sooner to meet a legal requirement or a requirement from our infrastructure provider. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the current version.
